My wife and I just had a beautiful girl, Lily Rose. She was born 12:42 yesterday and weighed 7 lbs 8 oz and is the happiest baby ever. Shannon was amazing and birthed completely naturally! We’re at the hospital right now recovering — sorry for the slow replies. As soon as I get home I’ll get caught up on emails and returning phone calls!
At the hospital!

January 8, 2010These two were so much fun and totally relaxed in front of the camera. We shot at Piedmont Park and nearly had it all to ourselves save for a few other photographers out taking photos. It was a Saturday/gameday as well, and both being UGA fans, they sported the red and black for some shots. Can’t wait for the wedding, thanks guys!

January 3, 2010These two were so much fun. Already married, they never had the chance before to get some engagement/family style photos. We met at Winn Park in Atlanta which is sort of nestled between Piedmont Park and the High Museum. Cool little spot, not too crowded, and it’s right by their house so they brought their dog along too.

Merry Christmas!
December 25, 2009Yes . . . we are those people!

Amy & Gouda {Atlanta Wedding Photographer, Ben Helton}
November 29, 2009Amy & Gouda were so much fun to shoot with. I think their personalities really came through in the photos. By the end of the shoot, Amy and I had convinced Gouda to just really let loose and let his superhero alter ego inside him run free. The result is nothing short of amazing: PBR + Atl Thrashers Cape + Elvis sunglasses + engagement photo session = colossally awesome moment I felt privileged to shoot!

November 14, 2009These two had the best location ever for an engagement session. It was up in Ringgold, GA — a couple hour drive but totally worth the distance! We met at a farm that belonged to some of their friends. There were horses, buffalo, and awesome photo opportunities wherever you looked. The light was perfect and they were both total naturals in front of the camera. I had a hard time picking fav’s for the blog because there were so many — can’t wait for the wedding!

Jenny & Ray
November 7, 2009I met up with these two at Piedmont Park for their engagement session. The park was full of people for a charity walk/run event. There are so many spots here though that it didn’t matter. Got some awesome shots and had a great time while doing it. Can’t wait to shoot their wedding next June.

Laura & Tom {Atlanta Wedding Photographer, Ben Helton}
November 1, 2009Laura & Tom’s engagement session was so much fun so I knew I was in for a good time at their wedding. Laura got ready at her parent’s house which is literally right down the street from me. The ceremony was at Sacred Heart in Atlanta. It’s an absolutely gorgeous church, and I think one of the oldest in the city. After the ceremony, I hopped on their awesome trolley and rode to the reception which was at the Druid Hills Golf Club. The golf club was beautiful — they started with a cocktail hour on the patio and then brought the party inside to the ballroom. The band was on point and kept everyone on the dance floor all night! Look closely at all the photos . . . I make a special cameo in one of them myspace style

Happy Fall Y’all!
October 29, 2009Is it y’all or ya’ll? Google it. A couple days ago my wife grabbed some old paint out of the closet and told me I was painting a pumpkin on her. Uhhh . . . ok, right. The guy that can’t even draw stick figures is supposed to paint a pumpkin on his wife’s moving belly?! Turned out ok in the end and it was a whole lot of fun too. These are a couple of my fav’s.

Gary & Shalinda {Atlanta Engagement Photographer, Ben Helton}
October 22, 2009These two were so much fun. We decided to do the engagement session in the park at Atlantic Station. Gary asked Shalinda to marry him on the bridge over the pond so this location was perfect for them! Neither of these two were shy around the camera. Gary was pretty good at working it, but Shalinda, most definitely knew how to strike a pose and it shows in these photos!
